c_270_180_16777215_0_0_images_PICTURES_2019_0609_TEP_Pict.jpg The 12th Meeting of the Training and Exercise (T&E) Panel which is one of the 7 working panels of the Joint Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Defence Capability Development Group (JCBRND-CDG) was held from 13 to 17 May 2019, in Turku, Finland.

As usually the spring meeting was busy and well attended with the participation of 65 TEP participants from 12 NATO Nations (BEL, CAN, CZE, DEU, FRA, GRB, ITA, NLD, NOR, POL, TUR, USA and 3 Partner Nations (AUT, FIN, SWE). In addition, representatives from NATO ACO (SHAPE-J5), NATO School Oberammergau were present. The JCBRN Defence COE provided the chairperson and the secretary. The Main Planning Conference (MPC) for Exercise Toxic Trip 2019 was organized in parallel to this meeting.

During the 5-day meeting different tasks were managed in syndicates. To mention the most significant achievements we must cover a whole task spectrum from the MPC for the Toxic Trip 2019 exercise, the Medical Training Liaison Team preparation of the exercise Clean Care 2020, the WT2 (maritime) issuing of the invitation letter for the exercise Toxic Fjord 2020, and the continuous development of ATP 3.8.1. Vol. III under the lead of France which is the custodian of the volume. The JCBRN Defence COE representatives provided briefings on Lessons Learned process and the Modelling and Simulation Gaps in the E&T.

All participants of the 12th TEP meeting appreciated the warm hospitality of the Finnish Navy Base in Turku. The TEP Heads of Delegations will meet again in October in the USA to get familiarized with the new CDG tasks and to present the best practices of the CBRN Exercises.
