The JCBRN Defence COE organized the 4th CBRN Consequence Management Training Handbook Working Group Meeting in Vyškov, Czech Republic, 14 – 17 February 2012. The meeting was chaired by the CBRN NTG WG WT1 chairman, LTC Vratislav OSVALD, who also serves as the Director of the Training, Exercise and Education Department (TEED) at the JCBRN Defense COE.

        Participants from four (4) countries (TUR, CZE, DEU and AUT) attended the meeting to discuss all relevant issues and comments made by nations in order to develop solutions for inclusion in the CBRN CM TRG Handbook. The aim of CBRN CM TRG Handbook is to provide guidelines for CBRN CM training. This document is designed for possible CBRN CM military stakeholders who are responsible for planning and conducting CBRN training, education and exercises. The CBRN CM TRG Handbook will outline the training considerations required to prepare for and respond to a CBRN incident.

      On the 5th of January 2012 the JCBRN Defence COE hosted a very prestigious visit by His Excellency ShriVenkatesan Ashok, the Ambassador of India to the Czech Republic. The Ambassador was accompanied by his Defence Attaché, COL Gurpreet Singh.  The Ambassador and his party were welcomed by the JCBRN Defence COE Chief of Staff COL Randy Lee Smith as well as representatives from the Ground Force Headquarters and the Vyskov Garrison.

       COL Randy Lee Smith made his Excellency familiar with the history of the JCBRN Defence COE, its development, concept of operations, principles, mission and discussed a wide spectrum of projects included in JCBRN Defence COE Program of Work in both 2011 and 2012.  Later they attended a luncheon to further discuss areas of mutual interest.  The visit concluded successfully and the Indian delegation continued their informational visit at the Military Academy in Vyškov.

       International conference "Modern Technologies for Managing of Crisis Situations" will be organized on 3rd April 2012 in Vyskov by NBC Defence Institute of University of Defence in cooperation with the Joint Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence Centre of Excellence. This international conference of young CBRN research and scientific workers will offer an interdisciplinary forum to discuss the development of current and future modern technologies, which can be applied in civilian protection, crises management, CBRN and TIC defence.
