On 27 August 2013 the JCBRN Defence COE hosted a prestigious visit of the Director of the Nuclear Policy Directorate and Head of WMD Non-Proliferation Centre Mr. Fred S. Frederickson. The Ambassador was accompanied by the delegation led by the Director of Defence Policy and Strategy Division of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic Mr. Jan Havranek.

     The Ambassador was welcomed by the Director of the JCBRN Defence COE COL Jiri Gajdos, who briefed the delegation on all achievements and current activities of the JCBRN Defence COE. The meeting continued with the presentation focused on the future and the way ahead for CBRN support to NATO conducted by the JCBRN Defence COE. COL Jiri Gajdos also introduced changes in the JCBRN Defence COE organizational structure approved by the JCBRN Defence COE Steering Committee (SC) during Spring SC meeting. These changes will allow the JCBRN Defence COE to be more proactive in order to meet the expected challenges, such as the CBRN Reach Back Coordination Element, Department Head and Quality Assurance ambitions. After the briefings and the fruitful discussion the visit continued by the overview of the JCBRN Defence COE´s Modeling and Simulation Capabilities with short demonstration of possible M&S outputs, as well as with a short update on CBRN Reach Back and Coordination Element together with Information Knowledge Management. The visit was concluded by the discussion on the perceived future cooperation between the WMD Non-Proliferation Centre and the JCBRN Defence COE. Both sides agreed that this cooperation should be formalized in the Technical Agreement, which should be signed between these two organizations in the near future.
