         A representative of ESG Company, Mr. Joerg BERNHARDT, a Military Sensors Integration Subject Matter Expert, visited the JCBRN Defence COE on 18 February 2013.

        JCBRN Defence COE’s Deputy Director COL Janos Zelenak welcomed him and the TSD Director COL Rainer SCHULTE provided an overview briefing on the JCBRN Defence COE structure, organization and the 2013 program of work highlights.

        He stated that one of the fundamental missions for the COE is to create a collaborative environment for integrating academic, industrial and military institutions in support of NATO.

      The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and State Secretary for European Affairs, Mr. Jiří Schneider, visited the JCBRN Defence COE on 7 March 2013.

      After a short welcome by the JCBRN Def COE Director and introduction of acting department directors, Mr. Schneider received a common COE briefing and a briefing focused on the JCBRN Defence COE capabilities and POW 2013.

     The meeting culminated with valuable discussions on RB&F prototype and future mission and development of the JCBRN Defence COE. Mr. Schneider was also interested in the manning and especially unfilled NATO positions. At the end of the visit, the JCBRN Defence COE asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ support in the Supplementary Agreement negotiation process.

       JCBRN Defence COE hosted a prestigious delegation of European Union representatives from 14 to 15 February 2013 in Vyškov, Czech Republic. The Vyškov meeting was a continuation of the consultation originally held in Brussels on 10 December 2012 and launched as a response to the JCBRN Defence COE SC task to examine how we can better cooperate with the EU.  These talks centered on cooperation between the JCBRN Defence COE and EU entities. The aim was to clarify the intent and expectations of the EU entities and the possibilities of collaboration with the COE.

        The JCBRN Defence COE scheduled this course in Vyškov, Czech Republic from 26-27 February, 2013. This course introduces experienced CBRN-Analysis users to the latest CBRN Analysis program releases and provides knowledge about new and improved program functions.

           More than 20 invited SMEs from the NATO Command Structure (NCS), NATO Force Structure (NFS), the JCBRN Defence COE and the JCBRN Defence Capability Development Group (JCBRND CDG) as well as several industry representatives gathered on the 16th and 17th of January 2013 in Vyskov, the Czech Republic, where the JCBRN Defence COE hosted the initial meeting of CBRN Functional Service Working Group (CBRN FS WG).
